 V - Description

Shadowrain is a side scrolling sci-fi survival horror game that takes place in an ambient, AI-driven, dystopian universe. Shadowrain is a game about immersive storytelling and psychological horror that will make your skin crawl. A true nightmare completed by a frightening main theme composed by Finnish synthwave artist, Ace Buchannon.

In Shadowrain it is useless to try and fight, as your only options for survival are hiding and sometimes even running with your limited amount of stamina. As you progress through the eerie pathways of Neo-Tokyo, accompanied only by an AI assistant named Yui, you’ll need to keep track of your characters health and sanity as well as Yui’s energy. Despite the first glance of the environment, you are not alone. Something unnatural is catching up on you and it is getting closer. hide

To bring out the true feeling of fear in players, Shadowrain has taken inspiration from games such as Amnesia the Dark Descent (PC 2011) as well as Clock Tower (SNES 1995). Shadowrain has tried to succeed in combining the best parts of these classic horror games, while at the same time bringing these aspects into a 2D format.

In Shadowrain the story is driven forwards by versatile dialog conversed with Yui, as well as many documents and hints scattered all around the setting of the game. The game has five different endings, all achieved by the different choices players can make while playing the game.
